HEATH DISTINGUISHED POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE PROGRAM INL’s first distinguished postdoctoral appointee, Dr. Cheng Sun, was named to the Russell L. Heath distinguished postdoctoral appointment in October 2016. He has since transitioned to a full- time hire and now works as an INL researcher in the advanced characterization department at the Materials & Fuels Complex. In fall 2017, INL named two new Russell L. Heath postdoc appointees: Dr. Ruchi Gakhar and Dr. Gregory Horne. Gakhar holds a doctorate in materials science and engineering from University of Nevada, Reno. She came to INL from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, where she worked as a postdoctoral research associate. Dr. Horne earned his Ph.D. in nuclear fission science and technology from the University of Manchester. Prior to coming to INL, he performed research at California State University, Long Beach and The University of Notre Dame Radiation Research Laboratory. Russell L.
